"Wallowan Dies At Local Hospital"
Memorial services for Herman Anderson, of Wallowa, who passed away march 9, 1966 at Wallowa Memorial hospital, were conducted by the Bollman Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wallow Methodist Church, with Rev. Darwin Secord officiating. Mrs. Geneva Johnsn was pianist and Crawford Overson was soloist, singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again."
Casket bearers were: John Victor, John Kriwox, Harward Edwards, Grant Sasser, Thorsten Shell, and Roy Southwick, and interment was in the Wallowa cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born February 13, 1884 in Hot Springs, North Carolina. On June 10, 1912 he was married at Lake Charles, Louisiana to Adalee McDonald who survives him, and the couple had lived in Wallowa for 43 years. He was a timber faller by occupation and retired. He had been in ill health for several months and a hospital patient for eight days.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. L.S. (Ione) Jacobs, and Mrs. M.C. (Vivian) Huffman, both of Portland, and Mrs. G.L. (Leona) Kenville and Mrs. Dale Victor, both of Wallowa; one son, Herman Kenneth, of Richland, Wash.; and twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
