Derek Mason Bartlett, of Bend, OR, died November 26th, Thanksgiving Day, after a long fight with Leukemia. He was 39. Derek was born in Weatherford, Texas. He and his twin brother, Eric were raised by Howard and Renolda Whitehead of Greensburg, PA.

Mr. Bartlett was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ, a high school graduate of The Linsly School, and received a bachelors degree in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame. While there, he was a member of the Bengal Bouts boxing team. After a number of years working as a systems analyst for Junction Solutions, he and his wife Louie', built and operated the Silver Leaf Caf' at Eagle Crest Resort.

Derek had a passion for the outdoors, a competitive spirit and an engaging personality that drew people to him.

He is survived by his wife, Louie', brothers, Eric and Ben, and his sister, Lanita.
