Funeral for Ray Earl Allen, a Sandy resident for more that 35 years, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Sandy Community Presbyterian Church. He died at age 82 Tuesday at this Fort Rock home.
Born in Cripple Creek, Colo., Mr. Allen grew up in Colorado and Kansas. He came to Sandy in 1938 after a year in Lebanon. He worked as a farmer and logger until age 72. Two years ago, he moved to Fort Rock.
Surviving are his sons, Rex of Estacada, Roy of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lon of Vancouver, Wash., and Lee of San Bruno, Calif.; daughter Shirley Wilson of Fort Rock; brothers, Elvin of St. Francis, Kan., and Orville of Hanson, Idaho; sisters, Velma Owens of Anacortes, Wash., and Violet Owens of St. Francis; 22 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
