Emily Genevieve Adams, 97, passed away peacefully at her Albany, Ore., residence with family at her side.
She was born in Widsom, Mont., on Aug. 24, 1910, to her parents William Homer Utley and the former Bessie Eveline Pogue and moved to Ontario, Ore., at a very young age.
After graduating high school, she lived in Wenatchee, Wash., until moving to Klamath Falls, Ore.
She married her lifelong mate Earl Norten Adams on March 11, 1939, in Reno, Nev., and Earl preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1987, as well as two step-brothers Ralph and George Utley.
Emily worked as a meat wrapper for Safeway in Klamath Falls until she retired in 1972.
She moved to Lebanon, Ore., in 1994 to be closer to her daughter and family.
Emily is survived by her daughter: Joanne Ewing, Albany, Ore.; granddaughters Denise and husband Gary Burroughs, Lebanon, Ore., Deanna Lytle, Albany, Ore.; great-grandchildren Chelsie and Bradley Burroughs, Lebanon, Ore., Brandi Lytle and Katie Lytle, Albany, Ore.; sister Mildred McEachern, Klamath Falls, Ore.; and numerous other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd with Bill Davenport officiating. Final resting place will be next to her beloved husband Earl at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens.
Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, directors, is in charge of the arrangements.
