Here on the banks of the stream that carries this name, Quinn River, is a young pioneer sheepman's grave. He was accidentally shot during a hunting trip north of Waldo Lake. His family packed him out towards the Deschutes River while a member raced ahead to Prineville to bring back a doctor. Billy died at Crane Prairie before the doctor arrived.
