Angela "Jackie" Antonucci, 93, of Raton, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007, in Raton. Angela was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Arapino, Italy, to the late Salvatore and Cristina Rea. She grew up in the Koehler and Brilliant coal camps. She was employed as a factory worker during WWII in Chicago, Ill., and lived for many years in Ludington, Mich.
After returning to Raton she worked at the Sands Motel and Renos Café. Angela retired in her early 70's and continued to stay active with the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her cats and dogs. She was a member of St. Patrick-St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Angela was preceded in death by her husband Frank Antonucci in 1963; parents Salvatore and Cristina Rea; sisters Adelina Valucci and Giovannia Rea and brother Dominic "Bim" Rea.
She is survived by her son Joe Antonucci of Raton; granddaughter Candra McCellan of Cadillac, Mich.; special daughter and granddaughter Linda and Kayla Payton of Raton; numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends and care providers. She was a spunky, tenacious personality and will greatly be missed by all.
Christian Liturgy Outside the Mass will take place Monday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Thomas Alderette officiating. Rite of committal and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
