Isabel O. Abalos, 82, of Hurley, died Friday, June24 in Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born July 8, 1900 in Garfield, N.M. the daughter of Jesus Ochoa and Eugenia Barreras Torrez, and resided in the Hurley area for 46 years. She was a member of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley. Mrs. Abalos is survived by one daughter, Socorro Beltran of Deming; Six sons, Mike O. and Johnny Abalos of Hurley, Aifredo O. of Bayard Anasacia O. of El Monte, Cal., David O and Edward O of Silver city; 38 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rosary was recited on June 26, in the Infant Jesus Catholic church. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated June 27. Both services were under the direction of Rev. Fr. Jesus Jimenez. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery, Hurley. Serving as active pallbearers were Mrs. Abalos' grandsons, Mike Jr., Rudy, Richard E., Pat, Arnold arid Richard s. Abalos. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Abalos' remaining grandsons and one great-grandson Eddie. S., Steve, Robert and Ray Abalos, Jackie Lujan and Ray Trejo Jr.
