Lucy Elvira Graves, 102,
a longtime resident locally,
died at her home Aug. 8,
2008.
Lucy was born in Castle
Rock, Colo., June 15, 1906
to Charles E. and Annie B.
(Williams) Crosswhite. Lucy
earned her teacher's certificate
from Palmer Lake. She
enjoyed gardening, reading
and writing as a New Thought
Practitioner. Lucy and her
husband, Don Graves, owned
and operated the Sierra Motor
& Tire Co., on Morgan Street
for many years.
Her husband, Don preceded
her in death on May 31, 1978.
Lucy was also preceded in
death by four brothers and
four sisters.
She leaves behind her
daughter, Phyllis Glines of
TorC; sons, Gene Graves of
TorC, and Kenneth Graves
of Las Cruces; sister, Doris
Michael of Aurora, Colo.;
and brother, Tom Crosswhite
of Grass Valley, Calif.; 11
grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.
At her request, cremation
will take place and a family
memorial service will be held
at a later date at the Hermosa
Cemetery with inurnment
next to her beloved husband,
Don.

locally.
