John Henry Fisher departed this life Monday, October 27, 2003 after a long and fruitful life. God saw that he was just too tired to stay any longer, so He sent His swiftest and surest angel to bring His servant on home.

He was the last of the children born to Mr. Alex and Mrs. Ella James Fisher. He was born in the Boswell area and lived there all of his life. He attended the public schools there, raised his family there, and worked in the community.

He was married Mrs. Alberta Dana for nearly seventy years. To this union, four children were born. He served his community well, helping with the Mayhew Neighborhood Club. He was a member of the St. James #2 Missionary Baptist Church, where he served until his health failed. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Collier, one son, Mr. Ted McClure, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
