Walter Bailey was a bachelor. He lived his entire life near the Bailey Church. His mother Amanda was a proprietor of the local neighborhood store, in which he was her assistant. Their store was located about a block or so East of the Church. When he was young man had a team of white horses, of which he was very proud. When they got old and died he buried them in the family cemetery in the woods behind his little two room house. When he was older he roamed the neighborhood, eating from natures bounty. He would spend nights at nieces or nephews, usually in their barns and would show up for breakfast. After he was gone, Woodrow and Opal lived in the house when they were first married. He is buried beside his Mother and Father at the Bailey Cemetery.
