AMERICUS - Mrs. Lola R. Adkinson, 89, of Perfect Care died Friday night, April 11, 2003 at Sumter Regional Hospital. Mrs. Adkinson was a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., born Dec. 25, 1913, daughter of the late Charles E. Myers and the late Ruah I. Sorgen Myers. She was the widow of Burnard Olney Adkinson.
Mrs. Adkinson had lived in Sumter County since 1994. She was a former member of the Ft. Wayne Women's Club, a member of the American Business Women's Club and Shiloh Chapter No. 141 Order of the Eastern Star in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of The Young at Heart Club and was very active in all church committees and activities.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2003 in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, 142 Southland Road, with the Rev. Bryan Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Ty Adkinson, Shane Adkinson, Steve McSpadden and Ken McSpadden.
Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Jan Adkinson of Americus; three grandchildren, Ty Adkinson (Ericka), Shane Adkinson (Lyn) and Danielle Adkinson McSpadden (Steve) and five great-grandchildren, Kristen Adkinson, Kaitlyn Adkinson, Brittany Adkinson, Kylie McSpadden and Brooke Adkinson.
Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
