Mrs. A. E. Nichols was stricken with a stroke of paralysis and died at her home on Thursday evening of last week.
Anna Matilda Homan, daughter of John and Elizabeth Homan, was born at Warsaw, Indiana. At the death of her mother, when she was five years old, she came to Bloomington and settled at Dry Grove, where she grew up to womanhood. On 12-21-1893, she was married to Alonzo E. Nichols. To this union were born four children; Berneice, wife of Albert Jacobs, who died 4-18-1919; Ferol, Ruth and Samuel, who died in infancy. When a young woman she joined the United Brethren Church at Dry Grove and always kept the Faith.
She was a faithful wife, a good mother to the end. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband; two daughters, Ferol, wife of W. P. Chandoin, and four grandchildren of St. Louis, Mo.; Ruth, wife of Russell Kneale, and grandson of Kempton; Albert Jacobs and three grandchildren of Emington; one brother of Colorado Springs, Colo.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. D. Benjamin, of Piper City, at the M. E. Church in Kempton on Sunday afternoon; the burial was in Kempton Park Hill Cemetery.
