Carlton- 3rd son of Charles & Mary Ruth who bore 4 boys & 2 girls, Born on a hot sunny day in May, 2 miles from Double Run, Ga. I was almost 9 and vividly remember having a pesky little brother to watch along with your pesky little sister. I joined the Army when you were 8 years old. Sad to say I didn't see much of you after that. I do recall that you were always over impressed with my uniform- Such as my return from Vietnam in 1967. That is the last time that I saw you. You, Like your two older brothers, served your country. Your brothers gave some. You gave your ALL. I never told you "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE" because you were stubborn & kept extending in Vietnam. Little Brother, Thank You For Your Service - Stanley E. Dixon US Army (RET)

Sgt Carlton Leo Dixon served as a Infantry Sergeant with Charlie Company, 87th Infantry, Army Support & Command Saigon, 1st Logistic Command, USARV.

He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal for his combat wounds, The Army Good Conduct Medals, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
