Obituary for Annie P. Griffin

Funeral for Mrs. Annie Maude Purvis Barnard Griffin, 81, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Mrs. Griffin died Saturday at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, FL after a lengthy illness.

A native of Douglas, she was the daughter of Henry Purvis and Bertha Eunice Purvis. She was a member of the Paradise Heights Baptist Church of Apopka, Fla.

Survivors are three daughters, Barbara Luci, Indian Harbor Beach, Fla, Nora Lee Curtis, Jacksonville, and Lavern Danley, Plant City; two sons, Cameron Barnard and Bobby Barnard, both of Waycross; four brothers, Joe Purvis, New Smyrna, Fla., J.C. Purvis, Gross Valley, Calif., Stafford Purvis, Fort Pierce, Fla., and Theodore Purvis, Miami; four sisters, Barbara Lawton and Dorothy Bennett, both of Waycross, Dalfie Belle Rosier, Merritt, Fla., and Sally Sheley, Britten, Mich.; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grand children and three great- great- grandchildren.



Annie Maude Griffin

Funeral for Mrs Annie Maude Purvis Barnard Griffin, 81, was held Monday afternoon in the Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Newton and Wendall Barnard officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rodney Barnard, Steve Barnard, Gayle Varnadore, Terry Cobb, Donnie Cobb, Mark Luci, and J.T. Varnadore.

Mrs. Purvis Dead.

She Was only 16 Years Old and Leaves Little Baby.

Mrs. H. W. Purvis of Chatterton died at her home Saturday and her remains were brought to Waycross Sunday and buried at Mt. Pleasant. Rev. W. L. Harper conducted the funeral.
Mrs. Purvis was only 16 years old and had been married 14 months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Eunice who lives two miles east of Waycross.
She left a little babe only 20 days old.
