Elbert Hines Parker
March 26, 1932 - March 1, 2013
Gray, GA- Elbert Hines Parker of Gray, age 80, passed away on March 1, 2013 in Macon at a local hospital. Mr. Parker was born on March 26, 1932, in Taylor County, Georgia, but lived most of his life in Gray.
He was a son of Alton Brown Parker and Sara Sanders Parker Mitchell, and had three brothers, Leonard Parker, James Parker and Gene Parker, all of whom predeceased him.
He is a graduate of the Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. He served in the National Guard, and in 1993, after 40 years of service, he retired from the Georgia Kraft Company (Riverwood International), where he started work at age 17. He also raised cattle and oversaw the family's farms in Jones County.
He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cars and watching sports. He also loved animals including his favorite cat, Samson. Over the years, he was an active member of the Georgia Cattleman's Association and the Jones County Farm Bureau.
Mr. Parker's family would like to thank his dedicated caregiver, for her love and devotion.

Graveside services will be held at the Juhan - Moore Family Cemetery on Moore Road in Jones County on Sunday, March 3, at 2:30 pm. Rev. Jimmy Duke will officiate.
Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Services, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
