Carolyn Brown Allen of Covington, died May 05, 2006, at the age of 62. Born in Fulton County to the late Joe W. and Lucille Piper Brown, she was the widow of the late Willie Clifford Allen, and was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Brown. Mrs. Allen was a member of Red Oak United Methodist Church, and for a number of years she and her husband owned and operated Walker Harris Marina at Jackson Lake. A resident of the Covington area for 34 years, she always enjoyed her friends and was still very much a people person even when her health declined. A devoted wife to her husband, Mrs. Allen loved her dogs, Sassy and Oprah.
Surviving are her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances Fannin and Mary and Al Alessandri, all of McDonough; several cousins; many special friends, including James and Betty Turner of Oxford and Larry and Cheryl Bowers of Covington; caretakers, Aileen Gunter of Porterdale and Judy Snead of Social Circle; special companions, Sassy and Oprah. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Allen will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington with Larry Bowers and Rev. Bill McCoy, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. Condolences may be posted at www.caldwellandcowan.com.
