Shirley M. Alsman

OAKTOWN Shirley M. (Land) Alsman, 74, Sandborn, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at St. Francis South Hospital.

She was born Dec. 7, 1936, to James "Pat" and Edna (Boone) Land, she was raised by her stepmother, Opal Land, whom she considered her mother, after her mother passed away in Shirley's youth. She married Blaine Alsman on Feb. 12, 1954, and he passed in March of 1999.

Shirley worked on the assembly line for Thompson's RCA for 38 years and attended the Sandborn Christian Church.

Shirley is survived by her son, Cody Alsman and his wife, Beth, of Worthington; her daughter, Pamela Curtis and her husband, Gary, of Sandborn; her grandchildren, Shea Curtis, Garrett Alsman, Breanne Alsman, Tomi Dodson and Lacey McDonald; her great-grandchildren, Luke McDonald, Lane McDonald, Noah Dodson and Aiden Dodson; and one sister, Shelba Chambers of Owensboro, Ky.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Oaktown Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell Chapel.

I am so glad that I got the opportunity to meet you before this horrible thing happened.. I miss you A Lot and wish we could have had more time to spend together. But I am very thankful that I found you when I did!!! Love you!!
