Mrs. Mamie Dunlap Aldredge, wife of the late Thomas Watson Aldredge passed away at her residence on Friday, March 23, 1979 unexpectedly.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 25, 1979 at 2 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Cairo, GA., with the Rev. Paul Mosser and the Rev. Charles Culbreth officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. Active pallbearers included Hal Ragan, Tim Ragan, Tom Ragan, Walter Aldredge, Jimmy Aldredge, Roy Burdette and Leland Donaldson.
Mrs. Aldredge was born in Grady County on October 8, 1897 to the late Thomas and Florence Mathis Dunlap. She was married to Thomas Watson Aldredge on December 24, 1914. He preceeded her in death on January 8, 1969. She had lived a lifetime in this area, worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Bold Springs United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Clayton Aldredge, of Cairo; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Ragan also of Cairo; a son-in-law, Ray Koerner of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edwina Aldredge of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two brothers, C. Edison Dunlap of Ochlochnee, and W.C. Dunlap of Thomasville; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Wade of Ochlochnee, GA. and Ms. Naomi Oliver of Pensacola, Fla; nine grandchildren, Walter and Jimmy Aldredge, Vivian Burdette, Linda Donaldson, Hal, Tim and Tom Ragan, Carol Koerner and Marilyn Strong; seven great grandchildren.
Clark Funeral Home of Cairo, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.
