Edith F. Akins
REGISTER -- Mrs. Edith Franklin Akins, 76, died Thursday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The candler County native lived in Bulloch County most of her life and was a member of the New Castle Homemakers Club and Union Baptist Church.
Survivors incoude a son, Franklin Akins, Register; two sisters, Mrs. Naomi F. Neville, Register and Mrs. Mattie Lou F. Smith, Metter; two brothers, Benjamin R. Franklin and J.R. Franklin, both of Metter; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating, assisted by the Rev. Eddie Potts. Burial will be in Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The body will remain at the family residence on U.S. 301 South until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral.
Remembrances may be made to Union Baptist Church.
