Son of O. C. Anderson and Mary Jane Holland. Husband of Sara Beth Woods and Marjorie Brinson.

Mr. Clyde O. Anderson, 81, of Statesboro, died December 2, 2007 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Bulloch County native joined the United States Army in 1944 and was stationed in Germany during the early days of occupation. He was assigned to an antitank company with the 2nd Infantry Regiment. Mr. Anderson graduated from Georgia Teacher's College with a degree in education and in 1949 moved to St. Marks Florida where he taught school and received his Masters in Education from Florida State. In 1952 he moved to Dekalb County, Georgia and taught school for several years and accepted a School Administrator position in which he retired from in 1980. Mr. Anderson returned to Statesboro in 1985, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and he was also a member of the Statesboro Kiwanis Club. He was an excellent craftsman with wood and enjoyed making furniture for his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Woods Anderson; his parents, O.C. and Janie Holland Anderson and a brother, Clinton Anderson.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Brinson Anderson of Statesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lisa Anderson of Register and Tim and Christie Anderson of Ararat, NC; three grandchildren, Morgan and Garrett Anderson of Register and Joshua Anderson of Ararat, NC; two brothers and sisters in law, Ed and Maryam Anderson of Statesboro and Thomas and Julia Anderson of Portal; a sister, Irene Rountree of Twin City; a step daughter, Glenda Newbern of Statesboro and a step grandson, Greg Hughes of McDonough.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. John Waters officiating, assisted by Elder Jack Anderson.
Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Rountree, Pete Rountree, Lee Rountree, George Rountree, Leslie Anderson and Anderson Parrish.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA. 30459 or the Statesboro First Baptist Church Building Fund, 108 North Main St. Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
The Anderson Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Ogeechee Area Hospice for their compassionate care for Clyde during his stay at the inpatient facility. God Bless Them All.
