Mr. Wilbanks was a lifelong resident of Banks County, a son of the late Cecil
and Elizabeth King Wilbanks. He was a member of the Broad River Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Samantha Payne Wilbanks, of the home; four sons,
Travis of Cornelia, Telford and G. T. Wilbanks, Jr., of Baldwin, Virgil
Wilbanks, of Toccoa; six daughters, Mrs. Ben Wilkinson of Toccoa, Mrs. Arzo
Newsome, Mrs. Shelton Gailey, Mrs. Carmon Andrews, all of Baldwin, Mrs. Clifford
Chitwood, of Canon and Miss Christine Wilbanks of the home; 43 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Broad River Baptist
Church. The rev. Henry Harris, the Rev. Everett Brady, the Rev. Lloyd Free, and
the Rev. Jim Brewer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
