Raymond H. "Bud" Baylor, 83, of Groves Court, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Nottingham Nursing Center in Northumberland.
He was born on March 30, 1929, in Berlin, N.H., a son of the late Charles and Ona (Oldham) Baylor.
Mr. Baylor proudly served in the Navy. He was a volunteer for the Danville Ambulance, the Friendship Fire Company and Danville Fire Police for more than 52 years.
Bud was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Danville. He was retired as a chemical operator from Merck, working for more than 38 years. Mr. Baylor enjoyed watching the Phillies and was an avid Eagles fan.
Bud is survived by a son, Charles Baylor, of East Stroudsburg; two daughters, Janet Karwowski of N.Y. and Lisa See, of Danville; four grandchildren, Westyn, Seth, Alysia and Tanya, as well as a brother, Bradley and his wife Eloise Baylor, of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, the former Helen Sematis; a brother, Hurley Baylor, and a sister, Barbara Hall.
A time of visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 306 Lombard Ave., Danville, where the funeral service follow at 1 with the Rev. C. Rayvon Hilliard, retired, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Fire Police, PO Box 97, Danville, PA 17821.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home of Danville.
