Woman loved arts and crafts, playing bingo
Gladys Ackley, 86, of 50 First St., Apt. 503, Danville, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center. She was born May 24, 1925, in Towanda, a daughter to the late Robert Roy and Vera (McNeal) Brown.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed being with her family, arts and crafts, and playing bingo.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 63 years, John, and a sister, Ina May Montgomery of Towanda, as well as her parents.
Gladys is survived by three sons: Roy and his companion, Debbie of Danville; George, husband to Gloria of Jacksonville, Fla.; Denny, husband to Charlene of Danville; two daughters: Susan Deitterick of Bloomsburg, and Jackie, wife to John Genth of Riverside; 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Valerie, Sherry, Craig, Michelle, Ganene, Tony, Heather, Johnna, Kip, Steven and Trisha; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Brady Funeral Home Inc., 320 Church St., Danville, with the Rev. Ronald French serving as the officiant. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
