Funeral services for Ann Rollins Pitt Aldridge, 92, of Leland will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4 at Leland Presbyterian Church. She died Friday, March 1 at her home. Burial will follow in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Ann Aldridge was born in Memphis, TN on October 1, 1920, the daughter of Lillian Murrell Rollins and Carson Wilson Rollins. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis and attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and the Memphis Academy of Art. Mrs. Aldridge moved to Leland, MS in 1951.

Her first husband, Gilbert Dumas "Gus" Pitt, died in 1962. In 1968, she married John Atterbury Aldridge, and he died in 1972.

She served as Secretary of the Leland Presbyterian Church for forty years, from 1954 to 1994. At her retirement party, the fellowship hall of the church was named the Ann Aldridge Fellowship Hall. Throughout her 62 years in Leland, her church family was always very important to her.

Mrs. Aldridge was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA, and a Life Member of the Presbyterian Women. She was Past Regent of the Deer Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Colonial Dames of America. A Past President of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Mrs. Aldridge was a Life Member of the Leland Junior Auxiliary and served as Queen of the Leland Junior Auxiliary Ball in 1987. She served on the Leland City Hospital Board for fifteen years and was a former member of the Leland Garden Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bachelors Club of the Mississippi Delta.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia "Pat" Rollins Reid of Memphis, TN. Survivors include one daughter, Ann "Suzie" Pitt (Bobby) Carollo of Clearwater, FL, and four grandchildren, Ann Lowe Carollo (Tony) Elliott of Brandon, FL, Catherine Bassi Carollo (Tripp) Walker of Starkville, MS, Robert Ray (Elizabeth) Carollo of Clearwater, FL, and Elizabeth Rollins Carollo of New York, NY. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Alexander "Jake" Elliott, Grace Elizabeth Elliott, Tyler Rollins Elliott, Britton Walker, McKenna Walker, John Robert Walker, and Silas Pitt Walker. Ann remained very close to her sister Pat's children, Patricia "Tish" (Mike) Demster, Jean Reid, and Amy (Paul) Kaurez, all of Memphis, Carson Reid of Raleigh, NC, Kate (James) Surmeier of Chicago, and the late Tannen Smith. Ann and her family wish to especially thank Drew McGahey of Leland for his close friendship and support.

A visitation will be held one hour before the services on Monday in the Ann Aldridge Fellowship Hall of the church.
