A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday September 26, 2011 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Gordon officiating.
Mr. McDonald a native and lifelong resident of Worth County born on December 21, 1928 to the late Bob Washington and Lena Davis McDonald. He was formerly employed with Coats & Clark, a retired farmer and later helped to developed hunting preserves. He was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Louise Jolley McDonald of Sylvester; daughter Pamela M. Flanagan (Jim) of Birmingham, AL; son Ricky McDonald (Terri) of Leesburg; grandchildren, Heather F. Ross (Jared), J. Adam Flanagan, Rachel Swift (Jason), Becky Smith (Steven) and Rusty McDonald; great grandchildren, Hannah Taylor Ross, J. R., Allison, and Austin Smith, Alexandria "Lexi" Swift brothers Bobby Junior McDonald of Sylvester, Jimmy McDonald (Betty) of Sylvester, Tony McDonald (Lorene) of Sylvester; sisters Earline "Boots" Goodwin of Adel, and Geneva Jones (Clarence) of Sylvester.
In addition to his parents Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert, James, Paul, John Lee and Billy McDonald, sisters, Marjorie Free and Cleo Massey.
The family would like to express a "Special Thanks" to nurses, cna's, the staff of Sylvester Health Care, and Colquitt Regional Hospice for all the extra attention and loving care
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
