Pike County Boy To Be Secretary To Governor
Mr. Lehman Anderson, formerly of Williamson, has been appointed as the private secretary of governor Richard B. Russell, Jr. Mr. Anderson was raised near Williamson, receiving his educational foundation in the schools of Pike county. He has a number of relatives residing in this county at present.

Alexandria, Va., Aug. 28 - Leeman Anderson, 69, a long time administrative assistant to Senator Richard B. Russell (D., Ga.), died yesterday at his home here. Mr. Anderson joined Senator Russells gubernatorial campaign staff in 1930, served as his executive secretary in 1931- 1932 when he was Governor and came to Washington when Senator Russell entered the Senate in 1933. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Shippey; a son, James T. Anderson, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. John A. MacIntyre, of Falls Church, Va., and two grandsons. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Church in Alexandria Saturday.
