DIMMITT — Eulalia E. Balderas, 85, of Dimmitt died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, in Anton.
Prayer vigil will be at 6 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt with the Rev. Joseph Ravi as celebrant. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Ms. Balderas was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Charlotte to Rafael G. Escalera and Agapita Santos Escalera. She married Carlos Balderas Sr. in 1953 in Poteet.
Survivors include eight daughters, Sulema Oltivero of Dimmitt, Adela Livingston of Littlefield, Maria Luisa Zarate of Anton, Rosalinda Aldape of Hamlin, Bertha Horn of Amarillo, Stella Perez and Anita Coronado, both of Poteet, and Genara Moreno of Jourdanton; three sons, Carlos Balderas Jr. of Canyon, Robert Balderas of Amarillo and Oscar Balderas of Poteet; four sisters, Ramona Macias of Kingman, Ariz., Frances Mata of Stanton, Calif., Maria Rios of Lancaster, Calif., and Rosa Martinez of Hart; four brothers, Jose Escalera of Whittier, Calif., Ignacio Escalera of Tasco, Wash., Miguel Escalera of Riverside, Calif., and Felix Escalera of Hart; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
