Kenneth L. "Spike" Ball, local resident of Tulsa, died Thursday, December 31, 1998 at the age of 38 years. He was born June 29, 1960 at Chateauroux, France to Verl Dean and Resh Ball. He graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1978. He continued his education at Oklahoma Baptist University graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was presently attending the University of Oklahoma where he was working toward his Master's degree in Human Relations. He was employed by Eastland Mall where he was the Director of Visual Merchandising. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as cooking, dancing, theater, racquetball and golf. He had been a volunteer with many organizations including the Margaret Hudson Program, Hospice of Green Country, Shanti and Our House. Loving family members include his parents, Verl and Resh Ball of Paris, TN; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Jyl Ball of Augusta, GA, James and Lesia Ball of Vera, OK; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Randy Cunningham of Owasso, OK; maternal grandmother, Reba Sandlin of Asheville, NC; paternal grandmother, Esther Ball of Doniphan, MO; 7 uncles; 5 aunts; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He was the Godfather of one of his nephews, James Douglas Michael Ball. Funeral service was held Monday, January 4, 1999 at Mowery Funeral Home Chapel in Owasso. Serving as officiating minister was Reverend Don Moseby. Delivering the eulogy was Dr. Bedore, Professor in the Human Relations Department from the University of Oklahoma. Committal service was held at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery near Owasso. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to an AIDS Research organization. Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso.
