MRS. MARTENY DIES AT AGE 89
Gower, Mo.---(Special)---Mrs. Kate C. Marteny, 89, died Sunday at a Leavenworth, Kan. Hospital. she was the widow of A. E. Marteny.
Mrs. Martney was born in Gower and resided most of her life in this community.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Buttsback, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Mercedes Montgomery, Agency, Mo., and Mrs. Catherine Compton, Santa Ana, Cal.; three sons, Odin Marteny, Falls City, Neb., Edward Marteny, Leavenworth, and Harry Marteny. Atchison, Kan.; one brother, David Deakins, Columbus, Kan; three sisters, Mrs. Liza Curd, Mrs. Lula Gibson and Mrs. Bess Moore, all of Gower,; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Gower Christian Church, with the Rev. Gomer Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Tobin cemetery.
