Funeral services for Kathryn "Katie" James Fulford, 90, of Rockaway Beach, will be held today, December 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, Forsyth. Burial will be in Swan Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Forsyth Whelchel Chapel. Mrs. Fulford died Monday, December 25, 2006, at Table Rock Healthcare, Kimberling City. Katie was born March 28, 1916, the daughter of John G. and Kathryn A. (Pick) James, at Pawnee, Illinois. Kathryn James and Warren L. Fulford were married October 3, 1938, at Olney, Ill. They moved to Rockaway Beach from Olney in 1961. Katie and Warren were owner/operator of Jack's Dock & Cafe in Rockaway Beach, the inventor of the sausage burger. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John "Jack" James; and one sister, Elizabeth Slade. Survivors include her husband, Warren Fulford, of Kimberling City; three daughters, K. Lynne Gaston, of Rockaway Beach, Maude E. Coy, of Kimberling City, and Ann Pettenger, of Mt. Vernon; one son, Bill Fulford, of Naperville, Ill.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 1756 Bee Creek Rd., Branson, MO 65616.
