Margarita A. Agbayani died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Stanford Medical Center after an illness. A native of the Philippines, she was 72 and had lived in Watsonville since 1973. She had worked for many years for Watsonville Canning Co. and for Nakashima Nursery until her retirement. A member of St. Patrick's Church, she previously belonged to the Watsonville Filipino Community, the Filipino Catholic Assn., the Filipino Woman's Club and the Fil-Visaya Assn.
Her survivors include two sons, Renato and Frank Agbayani Jr., both of Watsonville; a daughter, Antonette Ramento, of Watsonville; four brothers, Mariano Acoba of the Philippines, Tony Acoba of Salinas, Eduardo and Demetrio Acoba, both of Watsonville; seven sisters, Maria Galutira, Caridad Ramiscal, Anita Castillo and Vickie Menor, all of Hawaii, Rosalinda Acoba of the Philippines, Dolores Jacinto and Alma Barut, both of Watsonville her grandchildren, Marley Johnson, Erika, Joshua and Hannah Agbayani. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Abgayani, Sr. in 1993.
Visitation will take place at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Thursday, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery.
