Daughter of John & Julie Anne (Duniston) Bull. Henrietta's father was a native of Maryland.
Wife of Dr. Edward Shackelford (marriage, 8 May 1847) and Major Daniel Ashby (marriage, 14 July 1863). Edward was a charter member of the Brunswick Odd Fellows Lodge and an early physician in western Chariton County. Daniel Ashby was described as "the Daniel Boone of Chariton County" because of his reputation as a hardy pioneer and occasional Indian fighter.
By Edward, Henrietta had one son, Henry E. (born 1848). Henry married and lived in Glasgow, Howard County, MO. By Daniel, Henrietta had two sons, John D. (born abt. 1864) and Samuel Woodson (born 1866). Samuel raised a family in Keytesville, Chariton County, MO.
In 1850, the Shackelfords and Bulls were neighbors in Brunswick, Chariton County, MO. By 1860, Henrietta was a widow living with her parents in Buchanan County, MO.
