Archie B. Babcock, seventy-two years old, a carpenter, living on the Beck road, died this morning at a local hospital. He had lived in St. Joseph twelve years. Surviving are a son, Otto Babcock, St. Joseph; three daughters, Mrs. Nina Adkins and Mrs. Dixie Adkins, Dearborn, Mo., and Mrs. Exon Hammond, Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. M. L. Ault, St. Joseph; a brother, Oscar Babcock, Agency, Mo.; a half-brother, A. D. Babcock, St. Joseph, and fourteen grandchildren. The body is at E. R. Sidenfaden's mortuary.

Archie Beniah Babcock was born October 27, 1863, at Bedford, Mo. He was the oldest son of a family of seven children. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie May Bowring, September 6, 1899, who departed this life 29 years ago. To this union were born five children, one dying in infancy.
He united with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist church in early manhood and was an active member as long as the church held services, being deacon a number of years. He was loved and esteemed by all who knew him, and an honorary member in the carpenter's union number 110 of St. Joseph.
He departed this life at 1 o'clock, Tuesday morning, June 23rd at the age of 72years, 7 months, 23 days. He leaves to mourn his death, a son, Otto Babcock of St. Joseph, with whom he made his home, and three daughter, Mrs. Nina Adkins and Mrs. Dixie Adkins of Dearborn, and Mrs. Exon Hammond of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and two brothers, Oscar Babcock of Agency, Mo., and Dot Babcock of St. Joseph; one sister, Mrs. M. L. Ault of St. Joseph; eight nieces and seven nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist church by Rev. Williamson, Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock. He was laid to rest in the cemetery by the side of his companion.
