Carlton F. Adams, 78, of Sikeston, MO, died Jan. 24, 2004, at the John Cochran Veterans Administration Medical Center in St. Louis.
Born Oct. 3, 1925, in Plumerville, Ark., son of the late Clarence F. and Grace C. Campbell Adams, he was a teacher for New Madrid Public Schools and was of the Baptist belief. A sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4 in Poplar Bluff and Amvets Post 149, VFW Post 3174 and Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston.
On April 15, 1976, in Bertrand, he married Pauline Morris who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Franklin C. Adams and John F. Adams; two daughters, Teri D. Heede, and Bretta L. Adams; one stepson, Michael Sidsney; one stepdaughter, Donna Delgado; one brother, Charles E. Adams; and 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One son and one brother preceded him in death.
Visitation was held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services were conducted. The Rev. Lee Fansler officiated.
The Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard conducted graveside rites at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
