Elnora Leona Alber, 86, of Sterling, died June 15, 2010, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James R.Nash officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Alber was born June 1,1924, in Sidney, Neb., to Williams H. and Dorthea (Meyer) Grosze. She graduated from Sidney High School. She was a bookkeeper for Highline Electric for 20 years. On Feb. 10, 1945, she married Francis Alber in Colorado Springs. Mrs. Alber was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a school board member for Columbine School. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. She is survived by her son, Leonard L. Alber and wife Diane of Merino; daughters, Darlene K. Alber of Pueblo and Betty Jane Ingold and husband Wayne of Polkton, N.C.; sister, Gladys Bush of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Alber in 1976; son, Lloyd Alber in 1965; four sisters and three brothers; and a good friend and companion, Vidow Squire.
