Vernie Allen, 73, Oklahoma City, formerly of Tuttle, passed away Wednesday night in Baptist Memorial hospital.


He was born in Arkansas and came, with his family, from there to Porter, OK, and came from there to Tuttle, where he grew up. Mr Allen was married to Rosa Randall. They lived in Tuttle for many years and later moved to Oklahoma City. Services were held Monday at the Calvary Chapel, Assembly of God church, 1200 SW 44, OKC, with interment at the Tuttle Fairview cemetery.


Survivors include his wife, Rosa, of the home, 1 daughter, Mrs Ruth Nelson of Oklahoma City, 4 sisters, Mrs Gertrude Balch of Texas, Mrs Russell Jones of Tuttle, Mrs Austin Chitwood of Amber, & Mrs Lucille Baker of Newcastle, and 3 grandchildren. Mr Allen was a WWI veteran. Military rites were held for him at the cemetery by the American Legion of Rooker Wallace Post 176, Tuttle.
