|Harry Marion Abshire|
|Birth: ||Dec. 14, 1884|
|Death: ||May 22, 1954|
The body of Harry Marion Abshire, 69, was found in his home in the Black Island neighborhood about five o'clock Tuesday afternoon by his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller, death apparently having occurred two or three days previously. His body was found in his bed and no inquest was held since he obviously died of natural causes.
Mr. Abshire was born December 14, 1884, at Cairo, Ill. and had lived in this county for about 30 years. He was a farmer and in recent years had divided his time between this city, where his wife lived and the farm home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the LaForge Undertaking Company chapel, with burial in the local cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta Mae Abshire; five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Miller and Mrs. Velma Harrison of this city, Mrs. Gladys Arbuckle and Mrs. Ruby Keaton of Indianapolis, Ind. and Mrs. James Cook of Hayti; and one son, Cpl. Virgil Abshire, stationed in Korea.
