David Brice Ausmus 85, of Edina died Thursday afternoon (October 18 1979) at 4:08.
Born August 13, 1894 in Knox Count, he was the son of Gilbert and Susan Bowen Ausmus. On Jun 29, 1913 He married Jennet Hunter who preceded him in death on 14 Apr 1957. Also preceding him in death were one daughter Ethel Marie; one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are six sons, John Ausmus of Portland, Oregon, Muriel Ausmus of Rock Island, Ill., Leon Ausmus of Edina, Edward Ausmus of Bevier, David Ausmus Jr of Washington, Ill., and Bill Ausmus of Trenton; two daughters, Mrs James (Hazel) Gibbons of Edina and Mrs. Glen (Fern) Martin of Alexandria; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr Ausmus was a life long resident of Knox county. He was engaged in farming and was also a trucker until his retirement.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon (20 Oct 1979) at two o'clock in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Rev. Luke Turnbough of Edina will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Locust Hill cemetery west of Novelty.
