Walter Acors, 75, for many years a resident of this city, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital Wednesday, October 13, after having been in ill health for some time. He was born at Crocket County, Tenn., December 26, 1889, the son of Rube and Lula Acors.
The family moved to Pemiscot county when he was an infant and he attended the Cottonwood Point schools. He operated a taxi cab company for 23 years before retiring.
On December 26, 1909, in this city, he was married to Miss Lillie Carson, who survives. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Millsap and a grandson, Herbert Millsap of Hayti; a brother Danny Acors of Toledo, Ohio and three sisters: Mrs.Anna Lonon of this city, Mrs. Nora ? of Hot Springs and Mrs. Jessie Lindley of Spring ?, Mo.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Ray, assisted by the Rev. Vernon Sisco of Corinth, Miss. officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
