ADEN, HENRY F. — Henry F. Aden of Shickley passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva Thursday, December 25, 1969, aged 74 years, 6 months and 9 days. He had been in ill health for some time.
Henry Frank Aden, son of Frank Aden and his wife Gertie, nee Mueller, was born June 16, 1895, in Champaign country, Illinois. In infancy he was baptized and as a young man was confirmed in the Lutheran church. In his youth the family moved to Nebraska.
March 21, 1917, Mr. Aden was married to Amelia Hofferber. They resided on farms south and east of Geneva many years. A few years ago they moved to near Shickley, later moving into town.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Victoria Lois and Norma Fay. He is survived by his wife, Amelia, a brother, Sam of Colorado Springs, Col., two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Carrie) Apking of Winside and Mrs. Charles (Fannie) Houser of Ord, several nephews, and nieces and many friends.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran church of Shickley.
Funeral services were conducted from the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Saturday, December 27. Rev. John Reehl officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lauber sang “Abide With Me” and “Take Thou My Hand, O Father.” Mrs. Lemoine Johnson was accompanist. Pallbearers were Robert Dondlinger, Leonard Gratopp, Kenneth Hofferber, Edwin Johnson, Duane Johnson and Lawrence Spickelmier. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
