Services for Elvert Edney
Elvert B. Edney, who lived at 609 Bluff St., died 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Barracks Hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 19.
He was born May 12, 1892 in Readsville, the son of James and Jennie Blackburn Edney.
He was married to the former Miss Iva Du Knox, Knoxville, Ill., April 21, 1920.
Mr. Edney is survived by his wife and Mrs. Eunice Nunelly, Readsville, a sister. One brother preceded him in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Edney lived at Readsville and then Williamsburg where he operated a garage. They moved to Fulton in 1924 where he opened a radio and electrical appliance shop.
Mr. Edney served in the Air Service in World War I and he was a member of Kingdom Post 210 American Legion.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Browning Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Kirkland performing the services. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank Hillgartner and James O. Foster.
