Funeral Services for Robert Wise Alexander, 76, of Fulton, will be held at 11:00am on January 14, 1988 at Hillcrest Cemetary in Fulton. Mr. Alexander died Tuesday at his home in Fulton.
Mr. Alexander was born in 1911, in Fulton, the son of William Moss and Beulah (Wise) Alexander. He was united in marriage to Mary Frances Berghauser, in 1933, in Montgomery City, Missouri.
Mr. Alexander was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Fulton where he held the office of Finance Chairman and church elder for many years. He was a graduate of Westminister College class of 1933 and was a member of the Theta Pi Faternity. He owned and operated Alexander Hardware Store on Court Street from 1939 to 1979 when he retired.
During World War 11 he served in the United States Navy as a Junior Grade Lieutenant.
After returning to Fulton he was instrucmental in helping start the first Callaway County Fair to be held after the war.
Mr. Alexander served on the Fulton City Council, was a Board Member of the Parks and Recreation Department, a member of the Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, Fulton Rotary Club and served on the Board of William Woods College for many years.
