Drowns Near Stella
Mike Anderson, an employee of Inman-Paulsen Lumber Company, who lived at Stella was drowned in Coal Creek slough about a mile above Stella Sunday morning when he fell or leaped from a boat in which he and three companions were going from Mt Solo, where they had been attending a dance at the Finnish Hall, to Stella. Anderson had been imbibing quite freely of moonshine according to his comrades. None of them saw him go into the water and did not know he was overboard until they heard the splash. They were unable to rescue him. The water in the slough, at this point is 3 feet to __ feet deep and the body was not recovered until Monday morning. He had no relatives in this country and funeral arrangements are pending.
Coroner W. G. Johnson was here from Kalama yesterday and conducted an inquest finding that the death was accidental.
