Dan Atchley
GILMER - Funeral services for Dan Atchley, 72, of Simpsonville, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Rev. Tim Ruland officiating. Interment will be in Chilton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.
Mr. Atchley passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at a Gilmer hospital.
Mr. Atchley was born April 24, 1938, in Gladewater, to Jesse Compton and Edna Carroll Stafford Atchley. He was owner of Atchley Plumbing Supply in Winnsboro and a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Tommy Jackson of Simpsonville; brother, Holland Atchley of Midway; sister, Mildred Petty of Flint; stepmother, Mable Atchley of Quitman; brother-in-law, Clifford Taylor of Jacksonville; grandchildren and spouses, Mischell and Darin Lindsey of Simpsonville, Danna and R.J. White of Simpsonville and Jerrad Jackson of Simpsonville; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lurline Atchley; and sister, Betty Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Darin Lindsey, R.J. White, Brad Fleet, Mark Case, Bart Bradley and Chad Bradley.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m, today, April 25, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
