OBITUARY--- FLOYD FRANKLIN ALDERSON
Floyd Franklin Alderson, son of J. Henry and Ruie May Alderson, was born Sept 12, 1895 and passed away in the Cass County Memorial Hospital Tuesday, June 11, 1963 at the age of 67 years and 9 months, after an illness of one day.
He was born south of Belton at what was then known as the Harrellson Ranch. He spent all his life in Cass County, except for a few early years spent in the state of Kansas. Most of his life was spent in the Cleveland community, where he engaged in farming and trading.
On April 20, 1934 he united with the Cleveland Baptist Church where he had attended services ever since the church was built.
He was united in marriage to Marie Hook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hook of Drexel, MO, on May 2, 1931. They lived in a rural community north of town for several years before moving to Cleveland in 1960 where they have since resided.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, of the home; an uncle, Thursday Prettyman; an aunt, Florence Alderson and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Joe Brewster, Harrisonville where held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, June 13, at the local Baptist Church. The soloist, Mary Ann Wilson sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "There will be no Night There." Mrs. Phyllis Todd was at the piano. Pallbearers were Earl Young, Jack Prettyman, Pete Prettyman, Arthur Prettyman, Henry Prettyman and Charles Prettyman.
Burial was in Freeman Cemetery.
