J. Adams and wife; buried 25 Aug. 1885; unmarked, Lot 91, Blk A in Elmwood Cemetery, Mexico, Audrain Co. - found on an index card at Audrain Co. Genealogical Society; I checked with the city of Mexico, they do not show this burial in this lot.
This is the same lot in Elmwood Cemetery as the Increase Adams family, so I believe this to be Increase' brother, Dr. John Adams of Ashley, Pike Co., Missouri, and perhaps his wife, Mary. Mary J Townsend Adams appears to have left Missouri after the tragic death of their daughter, Eliza. Mary and son, Charles F. Adams appear in the 1850 and 1860 census in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1870 and 1880 census', Mary and grandson, Amos T. Adams, are now in Norridgewock, Somerset, Maine. Did Mary return to Missouri to reconcile with her husband in later years...? We do not see Dr. John Adams after the 1870 census in Ashley, Pike, Missouri. Many questions remain.
