The cemetery records tell us that Lewis P Banning, Freddie Lee Banning and Lydia Rogers are buried in plot 110.
They are there without a marker or stone. This cemetery was created in 1870, it was the only cemetery in the area for many years, and it had a grand entrance with Elm Trees lining it. The graves were decorated with planted flowers, plants, and bushes. At a point in time two new cemetereis in Marceline and other factors moved celebrations from this cemetery for Decoration Day elsewhere, and the new cemeteries diverted burials to them. There being no cemetery association the cemetery went into utter neglect and likely it was during this time that any stones on this plot degraded or were damaged and when the cleanup happened which began in 1950, they may have removed them as debris in order that they might be able to maintain and upkeep the cemetery.

Gone but not forgotten.
