MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - LOUISE ETHELYN (DeBLOIS) ALBRO, 89, of 7 Rosedale Court, a former Sunday school teacher, died Tuesday at Grand Islander Heath Care Center.
She was the wife of Arthur A. Albro Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Albro had been married for 70 years. Born in Newport on June 2, 1912, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Ethel (Littlefield) DeBlois.
Mrs. Albro and her husband traced their lineage to the original settlers at Plymouth in the 1620s. She was a direct descendant of Resolved White.
Mrs. Albro was a Sunday school teacher from 1935 to 1954 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where she also served as president of the Parent Teachers Fellowship, and as a member of the Altar Guild from 1960 to 1975.
She enjoyed doing needlework and knitting for her children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, William A. Albro of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Phyllis L. Armbrust of Chula Vista, Calif., and Linda J. Burkitt of Middletown; and five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Mary's Churchyard, Portsmouth.
