Annalee Harbaugh "Betty" Bailey was born March 2, 1920 to James Harbaugh and Lillie Peterson Harbaugh in Carthage, Missouri and died September 18, 2003 in Dallas, Texas.

Her childhood was spent in Carthage until she moved to a farm outside Cassville, Missouri where she attended most of her high school days.

She was a graduate of the Exeter, Missouri high school.

In 1940, she married Walter E. Bailey, Jr.

During World War II, Betty was employed at Fort Knox, Kentucky while Walter was in Europe.

They moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where they lived until moving to Waxahachie, Texas in 1963.

They moved to DeSoto, Texas in 1974.

Betty was executive secretary of the Dallas Civic Garden Center in Fair Park for 13 years until her retirement in 1982.

She was an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) her entire life and had a deep love of her Lord, Jesus Christ.

After retirement, she volunteered at the Episcopal Center for Renewal and taught adult reading at the Literacy Learning Center in Duncanville.

She enjoyed daily walks with her Cairn Terrier, Skye, and visiting neighbors.

Betty and Walter had one daughter, Jane Betters, who resides in Dallas with her husband, Peter.

She is also survived by three grandchildren: Aliisa DuBose and her husband, Ben; Aaron Anttila and his wife, Amy; Edward Anttila, Jr. (EJ) and his wife, Michelle; two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Analise DuBose; sister-in-law, Helen Marie Kirchner; her best friend, Edward Anttila, Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; one brother, Herbert Harbaugh; and four sisters, Pauline McNabb, Blanche Babcock, Evelyn Kyte and Helen Catron.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M.

Services will be held at Oak Cliff Christian Church, 1222 W. Kiest Blvd., Dallas on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00AM. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Digby.

Entombment will follow at the Bishop Mason Center Mausoleum in Flower Mound.
