Gary N. Abernathy, of Marble Hill, died June 24, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was 41 years old. Mr. Abernathy was born February 7, 1939 in Greenbrier, the son of Marvin and Ora Marie Abernathy, who preceded him in death.
He was married June 4, 1960 to the former Wanda Roberts, she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Gary Don and Rodney Neal; and one daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Elfrink, all of Marble Hill, MO; five brothers, James "Mike" Abernathy of Florissant, MO; Denver Abernathy of Bridgeton, MO; Bill Abernathy of Greenbrier, MO; Paul Abernathy of Anchorage, AK; and Virgil Mansker of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Walk of Puxico, MO; and Mrs. Violet Pack of Arab, MO.
One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at Ward Funeral Home on Thursday. Burial was in Bollinger County Memorial Park, at Lutesville.
